2011 Campus Campaign 

FASS raised over $77,000 during the 2011 Campus Campaign, including over $50,000 in donations for student support (eligible for matching funds from the Dean's office).  In total FASS will contribute just under $130,000, including the Dossa Family endowment ($25,000) in Sociology and Anthropology, and the Andrew Petter & Maureen Maloney Endowment Fund for Aboriginal Students.

The New Stavros Niarchos Foundation

A $7-million donation from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation will establish Simon Fraser University as one of the premier locations for the study of Greek history, culture, and language outside of Greece. SFU’s new Stavros Niarchos Foundation Centre for Hellenic Studies will offer expanded Hellenic academic programming. This includes an undergraduate program for Greek, Balkan, and Middle East studies, a joint history/humanities major in Greek language, literature and culture, and graduate programs for Greek history, language and culture.
